TRANSFER NEWS

Who would have guessed that we would be getting transferred. Yes you read it right, TRANSFERRED!!!!! We are going to the northern most part of our mission to a place called Middletown. It is about 70 miles away from where we are now at the Bishop's storehouse in the Bronx. We will have to find our own apartment. We are told it is the most beautiful place on earth. I thought to myself, maybe you haven't seen our mountains in Utah. We will be working with possibly 3 different branches. Doug was warned about the amount of deer on the roads, he got so excited with the talk of deer. Doug has felt like he needed to learn spanish. He might get his opportunity with this transfer. One of the Branches is half english half spanish. There lies some of the activation problem. It is hard to go to church when you don't understand what is said. There is lots of traveling involved, thank heavens for our Toyota Camry Hy-bred.

We are going to miss "Da Bronx". At least I am. I love the people, the close proximity to Manhattan and all it has to offer, but especially I am going to miss the young Elders and Sisters. I know we will become acquainted with new ones, but I will miss the close proximity with them. In our new area we will be so spread out. We have 8 in our ward and 6 in the spanish ward in our building here in the Bronx. Doug will miss playing b-ball with them, I'll miss having them over for delivery food day and feeding them lunch, going on splits with them, learning from them in district and Zone meeting.

Things that won't be missed: TRAFFIC, the noise, the masses of people on the subway, the filth and trash in the streets, the amount of tickets we have accumulated.

We have been spoiled here in the Bronx. With the church just one house away, a washer and dryer in the basement, a great neighbor - Bill, loving ward members, we are in-between two subway stations, we were able to serve one day in the temple that we will have to give up, we have lots of new friends that we serve in the temple with, we enjoyed taking the subway down town to Manhattan to check out the sites, we have had the best Institute class, Costco is just 15 minutes away, the mission office is just 20 minutes away. I guess if you just give us a couple of months, we will feel the same about our new area. We love the Lord and will go where he wants us to go and do what he wants us to do.
